Event Details
The Reporter, published in Washington, Pennsylvania, on the 7th inst., reports that the Jackson elector for this county in 1824 is now for the Administration; three of the standing committee appointed by the Harrisburg Jackson Convention have turned from him; and the more the people become acquainted with the character of Gen. Jackson, the more they dread his elevation to a place he is totally unqualified to fill. The text interprets this as proof of subsiding military fever from 1824 and a healthful reaction in public sentiment.
