The Ohio Democracy have determined to show their unabated attachment to "the lost cause." and so have nominated Vallandigham, one of the meanest rebels whether in the North or South, for Congress. Evidence has recently come to light showing that when Vallandigham ran the blockade and escaped to Canada during the war he was accompanied by a number of rebel officers, and with them was charged by Jeff. Davis' Government with the execution of a plan devised at Richmond for exciting the riot in New York city in the summer of 1863. This riot, it was intended, should occur simultaneously with Lee's invasion of the North. but it came too late to be as efficient as the rebels hoped. Vallandigham is the mutual friend of Horatio Seymour and Jefferson Davis.
