Imperial Valley grapefruit again bringing honors to this county, announcement of the winning of first place as the most attractive rack exhibit at the National Orange Show at San Bernardino having been made. B. A. Hart, horticultural commissioner, at the week-end at the show that this is the fourth consecutive year that the valley fruit [has won] the same honor. Grapefruit awards won by valley product were first place [for] largest cluster and first [for] the largest grapefruit, which went to Emil Steiner, Brawley. Steiner's fruit was in the winning rack exhibit which featured a California bear in relief design. Mr. and Mrs. Steiner will remain [in] San Bernardino for the entire [duration of] the show, and will give talks on [agriculture in] Imperial Valley. Conditions between the valley [and] San Bernardino are reported satisfactory now, and a [number] of local residents will probably follow their annual custom of [attending]. The show will be open [including] Sunday, next. Brawley farmers are growing [on] 273,000 acres.
