Respecting the policy of the United States taking part with the Spanish American Colonies against the mother country, the Georgia Journal remarks:
"The interference of the Allied Powers between Spain and Portugal, in consequence of the invasion by the latter of part of the American possessions of the former, shews what the United States might anticipate from espousing the cause of the Spanish American colonies against the mother country. The probable result would be, the hostility of all Europe against us."
