The pilot who carried the brig Alkno-mack to sea, bound for Jamaica, returned here on Monday, and informs that he left the brig on Thursday last in a Bay boat: that shortly after the boat fell in with a privateer brig under Buenos Ayrean colors, which took him and the Bay pilot on board to carry her up the Bay. There were no officers on board the brig except the boatswain, who officiated as the commander. The crew stated that they had some time before, risen upon their officers, confined them, and given the command of the brig to the boatswain; that they then steered for the West Indies and put the officers ashore on an island, and took a certificate from them of their having been put on shore which certificate they exhibited to the pilots, probably with a view to convince them that they had not added murder to mutiny. Having thus disposed of their officers, they next steered for the Chesapeake, where having taken a Bay pilot on board, as before observed, they stated it to be their intention to proceed up the Bay. On their way up they kept the brig very close in shore on the western side, and landed at three different times 23 of their men. In the mouth of Severn river they came to anchor, and smuggled ashore a number of articles which they sold; among other things they sent ashore about 80 bbls of Irish pork and beef, and sold the former at $12 per bbl. The pilot is unable to say how long she remained at this anchorage, having left her while there; but understood from the crew that they intended after selling out every thing on board, to get up as near to Baltimore as they could, and run the brig on shore; after which they would leave her and disperse themselves. They had a vast deal of money amongst them, which had been accumulated from various prizes, and the men who were put on shore carried with them as much specie as they knew what to do with. The pilot could not find out the name of the brig, and does not recollect any of the names of those on board, or of the officers who were left in the West Indies.
