Prof. Mitchell's Reply. The Raleigh Standard contains a letter from Prof. Mitchell, of our State University, in reply to a communication recently published in the Mining Journal, over the signature of "G." and which we copied into our columns last week. Next week we shall publish Prof. M.'s reply. As the Standard well remarks, be Prof. M.'s opinions right or wrong, he wields a vigorous pen, and administers a severe dose to "G." For our own part we do not pretend to understand the subject matter of dispute, (Geology.) but having published "G's" article we shall also lay that of Prof. M. before our readers, and regret that we could not do so this week.
