By captain Rymers, arrived this morning in 13 days from Havanna, we are informed that a few days previous to his sailing, a national brig from Cadiz and a schooner from Malaga, arrived there in a short passage. From captain R's not understanding the Spanish language, he was unable to ascertain the particular news received by these arrivals. It was evident, however, that the intelligence brought by them was of great importance, and favorable to the cause of the Spaniards. Public illuminations and every description of rejoicing were immediately ordered. The populace destroyed the windows which were but partially illuminated; but no violence was offered to the French inhabitants, they prudently acquiesced in the public feeling. Capt. R. understood, that among other articles of intelligence, information had been received of the army under King Joseph being completely defeated and he himself made prisoner. Capt. R. having brought no loose papers, we are under the necessity of waiting for further particulars until the delivery of the letters from the Post-Office.
