NEW YORK, December 7.

The Severity of the Weather about Ten Days ago, occasioned such great Quantities of Ice, to be driving in our Harbour and Bay, as to give great Interruption to the Navigation. His Majesty's Ship the Rochester, Capt. Burnet, was in Danger, but being well provided, received little or no Damage.

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday last, the Weather was very warm, close and foggy, attended with rain, sleet and snow at Times, which in great Part removed the Interruption; so that we are in hopes the Rochester, who now lays near Staten Island, at the Watering Place, waiting for a fair Wind to sail for the West Indies, with nine Sail of Transports, loaded with Provisions, & one Ordnance Ship will soon depart.
