COLORED DEMOCRATS.—The Richmond correspondent of the Petersburg Post says: Rev. J. W. Dungee and his fellow colored Democrats are fighting a good fight bravely, and they are proceeding to organize the colored Democracy of this city and State with a vigor that must prove effective. If necessary to protect Mr. Dungee and his compatriots in the exercise of their rights as citizens, the whole power of the State will be used, and that failing, President Grant will be appealed to for protecting bayonets. I see no reason why we should be afraid of the introduction of troops into the South as a means of intimidation. White men are not to be intimidated in this section, and the boys in blue would doubtless defend the negroes, who should, in their presence, revolt from the existing intimidation practiced upon them by their own race and the heartless combination of scallawags and carpet baggers. Perhaps the Radicals may be hoisted by their own petard in this matter of military interference with elections, and I hope they may be.
