CHARLESTON, September 3.

Captain Blauck, of the brig Olympus, of this port, arrived here yesterday in a small sail boat from Nassau, which place he left on the 5th ult. on her passage from Greenock for this port, off the Hole-in-the-Wall, by the British brig Decouverte, captain Williams, and sent into Nassau—she was in ballast.—Left at Nassau the privateer schr. Nonpareil, capt. Martin, of this port, captured by the Decouverte brig, off the Hole-in-the-Wall—the crew are in prison—she had made no captures. Ship Ceres, of New York, from Liverpool, with a cargo valued at $80,000, taken by a small privateer boat, fitted out at Nassau. Ship Resolution, of New York, from St. Mary's with a cargo of rice and timber, captured by the brig Variable, lieut. Yates; and the schr. Augusta, Haskell, of Boston, from Oporto for Havanna, captured by the Decouverte. These were the only American vessels which had been sent into Nassau; but the cruisers on that station had sent in five or six vessels under Spanish colors, which had sailed from the U. States since the declaration of war, with cargoes for Havana, under the presumption that they were American property.

The cargoes of flour, provisions, &c. had glutted the market at Nassau, although many of the articles had before become very scarce and high.

The Sappho brig had arrived at Nassau from Jamaica a few days before capt. Blanck sailed—informed that they saw a schooner under French colors going into Kingston just as they sailed. The Sappho and the Rodian brigs were cruising off the Bahamas when capt. B. came out —A gentleman belonging to Baltimore, the mates of the brig Olympus and schr. Augusta, of Boston, and one seaman, came in the boat with captain Blanck.
