Full Text

The Atlas of yesterday corrects a story published in its last issue charging that Senator Andrews had formed an alliance with the "Ring" politicians of this city. The correction was unnecessary. Nobody ever believed the story. Senator Andrews is too well known in this community to be injured by anything that appears in the Atlas. More powerful batteries have been opened on him, only to be silenced by a reference to the facts and records of his whole life. Senator Andrews requires no apologist for any of his public acts. His private life is equally beyond the reach of criticism. The best thing the Press can do is to let him alone. If any editor thinks differently, let him stir him up. That's all.
