RIBBON GIRDLES:

Dainty Dresden Ribbons to Be Worn at the Waist,

Ribbon girdles are to enjoy a tremendous popularity, according to dressmakers. Summer gowns of wash fabrics will be considered scarcely finished without some sort of bright girdle or sash to encircle the waist. Many of the girdles are to be fashioned of the dainty Dresden ribbons in colors to harmonize with the gowns. Very broad ribbon is used and laid in folds to make the girdle of suitable width. A chou of the ribbon or a dainty rosette finishes one end and hides the place where the belt is lapped over.

Sometimes a sash effect is given by allowing short ends of the ribbon to hang from the rosette. A buckle covered with ribbon may be substituted for the rosette or chou. Any fancy ornament that can be covered with ribbon being considered suitable for this purpose.
