Reverend Edward J. Cunningham, Superior of the Pilgrim Springs Mission gave a very interesting lecture Friday afternoon in the High School Auditorium. The lecture accompanied by motion pictures in color was most interesting and a revelation to the audience especially to those who never were to the springs. The subject of the lecture embraced the mission activities, including the planting of the vegetables of which the people of Nome are so familiar.
Wonderful to relate also, is the fact that all the work such as farming, fishing, fancy work, artwork, is the entire work of the children. After seeing the work of these children and the wonderful crops raised so close to Nome, it is no wonder that the Mission of Pilgrim Springs manages to secure the first prizes offered in the Nome Fair.
Father Cunningham has several thousand feet of pictures. Years have been spent in making and editing these pictures, but all could not be shown in the course of an afternoon talk and it is Father Cunningham's hope that at some future occasion he will have the opportunity to come again to Nome and show these and other views of the mission.
