Capt. B. has been on board the Junon ever since his capture.
Afternoon.--Since writing you this morning, I have been to Marblehead, and conversed with Capt. Besom. He informs me, that he was put ashore at Cape Ann, at 7, last evening, from the British frigate Junon, capt. Upton, then 3 leagues E. of Thacher's Island, the Tenedos in co. They parted from the Maidstone on Saturday last, abreast of Cape Sable. Capt. B. was captured 22d Feb. and has remained on board the Junon ever since. The Tenedos and Junon went into Shelburne 14 days since for water, and sailed thence the 22d inst. Neither of the frigates had taken any prizes since the capture of the Alfred. Capt. B. has seen Halifax papers to the 19th inst. which contained nothing new. No prizes had arrived since the Lizard. Admiral Cochrane, from Bermuda, was expected daily.
The Fantome sloop of war, and a schr. of 16 guns, are also cruising in this bay. They sailed from Shelburne the day before the frigates.
The Goliath razee, and a 74, were expected in the Bay momently.
Their object was stated by the British officers to Watch the Congress, Wasp, &c.
