TOURIST CAMPAIGN NECESSARY

THE El Centro Chamber of Commerce is planning a vigorous campaign to keep up tourist traffic into California over No. 80 highway. This has always been the most popular route into the state, as statistics show, but the improvement of highways entering at other points has been cutting heavily into the number of tourists coming in through Yuma.

If we think that because we have held the lead for years we can retain it without battle. we are making a mistake. There is no field where competition is keener than in the struggle to get the tourists' dollar.

The chamber should have the support of every organization in the valley, and for that matter. all through Southern California. for all sections benefit from the popularity of the highway entering from Yuma.
