Last Tuesday week President Brown and his lady, accompanied by Mr. Chamberlain, commenced their journey to visit the Niagara falls. The object of the President's excursion is the recovery of his health.
With the most anxious concern the friends of the College have seen his strength wasting away under the pressure of his official duties, and the first symptoms of the approach of that disease, which secretly preys upon the seat of life. Freedom from the cares of the Institution, and moderate exercise, under the smiles of Divine Goodness, we hope will restore him to confirmed health.
Liberality well bestowed.—At the late anniversary of our Seminary, seven or eight gentlemen, knowing the President's circumstances and the state of his health, which would probably require a long and expensive journey, generously presented him nine hundred dollars—a handsome testimony of their respect for real worth.
