200 District X Employees Go To Summer School

Nearly 200 co-op employees and directors from District X associations gathered at YMCA Camp, Phantom Lake, near Mukwonago, Wis., Sept. 4-7, for a Summer School series of informational meetings on merchandise and service. Topics included fertilizer, bookkeeping, insurance, groceries, coal, display technique, service stations, tank wagons, and general managers.

Leaders were A. J. Smaby, Art Berg and Gordon Nevins of Midland; W. T. Allnutt and B. F. Ihlenfelt of the unified insurance set-up; Hans Lahti of Cooperative Auditing Service; A. H. Roffers of Northwest Co-op Mills; Gus Johnson of Racine Consumers Cooperative, and James Lemberger of the California Fruit Growers Exchange.

The school was sponsored by District X. Arrangements were made by the District X educational committee consisting of Mrs. Charlotte Torrey, Milwaukee, chairman; Erwin Wall, Racine, secretary; Darwin Bremer, Burlington; Leonard Bruce, Watertown; Allen Steele, Kenosha.
