LONDON, November 7.
Extract of a Letter from Paris, October 30.
Captain Asgill, who was saved from death by the humane interference of Count de Vergennes, while prisoner in the American army, is now here on a visit to his noble preserver, by whom he has been received with the greatest cordiality. The gratitude of the one, and the generosity of the other, are pleasing instances in favor of modern manners.
