FIRE COMMISSIONERS.

A Session Devoted to the Usual Routine Business.

The Board of Fire Commissioners met yesterday afternoon in regular session at the Mayor's office. Present: Mayor Workman, Messrs. Teed and Humphreys and Chief Moriarty.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved, after which the accident which occurred to Engine No. 7 was investigated. Mr. Myers described the accident, and said that the damage to the engine would not exceed $30.

The Commissioners ordered that Gray the driver, be fined the cost of the repairs, not to exceed $30.

A communication signed L. Litchtenberger and others was received. It called the attention of the Board to the fact that an engine and stone-crusher had been placed on the northwest corner of Los Angeles and Winston streets, and announced that a protest of the property owners in the vicinity will be entered at the next meeting. Action was deferred until the receipt of the protest.

The matter of the roofing being erected at the Dime Museum, which was considered last week, was again brought up, and the Commissioners instructed Chief Moriarty to notify Messrs. Doyle & Isaacs, the proprietors, that their protest was denied, and that they must take down all the woodwork that they have erected in violation of the city ordinance.

Applications for positions at the new Pine street engine houses were received from S. A. D. Springer, Fred. Nessler, Chas. T. Parcels and William A. Register. Filed.

Mr. P. H. Summer announced the completion of the Pine street engine house, and the Board decided to make its inspection on next Tuesday afternoon.
