JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 7—
The Ward liner "Havana" grounded on Mantanilla Reef, sixty miles off the Florida coast Sunday night.

Forty-three members of the crew and the entire passenger list of fifty-one were rescued from lifeboats by other ships.

One passenger, Robert Rittenhouse of Brooklyn, died of apoplexy.

He was eighty-three years old. Members of the crew remained on board the ship and Coast Guardsmen are standing by. It is expected that tugs will be able to refloat the vessel.
