3,000 Prisoners Reported Been Killed in Spain

GIBRALTAR, June 22--Fugitives arriving at Gibraltar alleged that more than 3,000 prisoners working on fortifications near the Gibraltar area on the coast, had been killed by Nationalist firing squads since the beginning of the Civil war.

The fugitives asserted that Nationalists feared that prisoners might reveal the character of the fortifications and executed them in batches of 50 as particular sections of the work was completed.
