Full Text

Exactly.

The Vinton County Republican says: that a gentleman of our acquaintance, who, a year or two since, would have sold his farm for $2,000 was last week offered $3,300 for it. The prospect of a Railroad running near the land, is the only thing that increased its value. What better argument could be presented in favor of Railroads, or public improvements of any kind.

We add another instance. A gentleman living near Bloom Furnace and owning a small farm for which he asked, a few months since, $700, refused, last week, $1,500. The railroad runs through his land.
