John V. Tidwell, Jr.
Stop! Look! Listen!
One cold winter day just two
days after Christmas (27) in 1915.
Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Tidwell became
the proud parents of their oldest
and well known son John.
John started to school in Brooksville when six years of age. Even
though he was only in the first
grade he felt as though he was in
the eighth! In fact he thought
then, he was larger than he really
is now, of course, that is just life!
He has continued his school work
throughout these many years, in
the Brooksville
Grammar
and
High Schools.
He has made many friends during his life, especially the true
friends he has won in Hernando
High. John is well known as one
of the Hernando High football
"heroes." He has served on the
football team for four years. At
the beginning of the football season this year, he was chosen captain of the team, but because of
illness, we are very sorry to say,
he had to give up the position. He
is extremely fond of sports and
you can take it from me He certainly is a sport in everything.
He says his hobbies are "everything" or "anything," he doesn't
have a favorite, so there you are
folks! thats what we call a sportsman of Hernando High! He is five
feet eleven inches in height, has
brown hair and eyes, weighs 147
1-2 pounds.
John is striving to be an Electrical Engineer and I am sure with
the good work and effort he is
putting forth he will make a great
success. We sincerely wish you all
the luck in the world John and we
hope you will succeed. Always
remember W-O-R-K and always
do your best to your ability. I
am sure you will accomplish your
vocation.
