Our Prospects.
The news from the Eastern States is cheering to the Democracy. The Democratic meetings in various parts of the Union have been larger and more enthusiastic than have ever before assembled. The great National Democratic party are gathering in, their might and majesty in every portion of the Union.
This news, so inspiring to the Democracy, is dampening to the ardor and hopes of the Black Republicans. Even Greeley, Editor of the New York Tribune, admits they have but a slim chance to carry either New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana or California.
The truth is the people of the U. States have determined that JAMES BUCHANAN shall be their President, for four years from and after the 4th day of March next, and that the spirit of sectionalism, and disunion shall be rebuked.
