Beach-Cuyler Seniors To Present Play
(Written by Hilda Manning)
The latest work from the pen of Miss Manning is "Going On Seventeen" which is described as a comedy of youth in three acts.

This play like others of Miss Manning's, treats of a group of boys and girls of sixteen, of their problems, their hopes and aspirations, their triumphs and defeats. Probably no other writer today surpasses Miss Manning in her understanding and insight into the lives of our coming generation.

Her plays are invariably sympathetic, amazingly true to life, and well above the average as entertainment.

The Seniors are confident that "Going On Seventeen" will prove to be one of the most outstanding plays ever presented by a senior class of the Beach-Cuyler School, when they present it at the Municipal Auditorium, May 30, at 8:00 p. m.

The characters in order of appearance, are:
Elsa, maid at the Carharts. Amy Reddicks: Buddy Carhart, going on seventeen. James Roberts: Mrs. Kate Carhart, his mother. Janet Nichols: Florence Carhart, his nineteen year old sister, Janet Perry: Craig Vincent, a young man of mystery, Julian Houston: Tom Williams, Florence's boy-friend. Eurtha Black; Paul and Shrimpie, friends of Buddy, Cornelius Stripling and Frank Simmons; Joan Vincent, Florence's school chum, Lottie Alton: Lillums, her younger sister. Florence Williams: Frank Carhart, head of the house, Melton Jackson: Helen, Doris and Agnes, friends of Florence, Clara Mack, Mamie Sweet and Earline Simmons.
