NEW-YORK, June 13.

We hear that on Monday last arrived an Express from Pittsburgh, by the Way of Philadelphia, to his Excellency Sir Jeffery Amherst, advising That a Party of Indians had murdered Colonel Clapham and all his Family; [Residing we Suppose near that Place.]

Several other Reports have been spread of mischief done by the Indians, on our back Settlements, but there appears to be no Truth in any of them except the above. What Indians have done this is not known. The Companies of Light Infantry of 17th, 42d and 77th Regiments are ordered to assemble on Staten Island, to be in readiness to proceed against the Savages, should it appear there is any Thing general intended against the Settlements.

There is most melancholy News here, the Indians have broke out in divers Places, and have murdered Colonel Clapham, and his Family; and two of our Men at the Saw-Mill just by the Fort, and the Scalps taken from each Man. An Indian has brought a War Belt to Tusquerora, who says Detroit was invested and St. Dusky cut off, and Ensign Pauly taken Prisoner--All Levy's Goods are stopped at Tusquerora by the Indians; and last Night 11 Men were attacked at Beaver Creek, and 8 or 9 killed. We hear of scalping every Hour, Mr. Gray and Allison's Horses, 25 loaded with Skins, are all taken.
