Full Text

A second Daniel come to judgment! It gives us no ordinary pleasure to hear the testimony of one of the most hardened political sinners in the world against this terrible and country-consuming vice.

General Taylor's last letter, in which he positively refuses to answer any political question propounded to him, settles the claims of certain politicians to his friendship and respect.

Well said! It is a remarkable fact that none but Democratic Politicians have had the impudence to question the old Hero about his politics, and in every instance they have got a Rowland for their Oliver.
