Butler Says Ike Is "Captive" Of Administration

BEVERLY HILLS, (A.P.)-Democratic National Chairman Paul Butler, stoking up the political hot stove after two weeks in Alaska, charges that President Eisenhower is the "captive" of an "unethical" administration.

And Butler predicts further disclosures by congressional investigating groups in the next session will seal a Republican defeat in 1956.

The President, Butler told a news conference yesterday, "has demonstrated a shocking lack of awareness of the responsibilities of administrative office in the civilian end of government."

Butler said he thought the President "wants to do what's best for the American people, but he's being misled and misused" and is "a captive of the small coterie around him."
